The Locked Tomb Wiki
The Locked Tomb Wiki

As a series without official character art (other than Harrow and Gideon) and lacking any filmed adaptations, the Locked Tomb Wiki is reliant on fan artists and illustrators to imagine and create the series with their immense talents. In order to protect these artists, there are a few guidelines all uploads to the Locked Tomb must follow:

Diversity of Artists[]

The Locked Tomb fandom has a small number of artists who have generated a truly impressive body of work focusing on the series. Though these artists' are truly appreciated and loved, the Locked Tomb Wiki strives to showcase as many artists in the fandom as possible. No individual artist should be used in place of a series official artist.

Obtain Artist Permission[]

If the work you are uploading is not your own, the artist must give explicit and clear permission to use their piece.

Artists must be informed of the exact usage of their work. This permission may come in the form of an email, a Tumblr ask, a Twitter or Instagram direct message, etc. An example of an appropriate message would be:

  • Hello! I am a contributor to the Locked Tomb Wiki and I loved your illustration of [describe or link the specific piece]. I was wondering if you would give permission for your piece to be used on the [title of page] page? You would be credited in the caption with a link to your [website] (or any other site you may prefer). Thank you!

You may not under any circumstance upload an artists' work before you are granted permission. Artists also retain the right to revoke their permission at any time, and the image should be immediately removed from the page and marked for deletion in the gallery.

Uploading Art to the Gallery[]

All art uploaded to the Locked Tomb requires four pieces of information regardless of if they are uploaded by the creator or on behalf of a creator.

  • Title—The piece should be titled descriptively with the character, item, location, or scene pictured and the name of the artist.
    • Example: Gideon Nav by TommyArnoldArt
  • Copyright Status—The most common copyright status' will be:
    • Fair Use (Official Series Art)
    • Copyright with Permission (Fan Art)
    • Self (Uploads you have created yourself)
  • Summary—A brief description of the contents of the artwork to improve accessibility and clarity.
    • Example: "A full-body illustration of Camilla Hect wearing her grey robes. She holds two knives and is in a 'ready' stance. She has brown, chin-length hair, grey eyes, and is on a light purple background."
  • Original Source—The file page should include a link to the original posting of the artwork on the artist's website.

Crediting Artists on the Page[]

All artists must be credited in the caption directly below the image with a link to the website of their choosing (whether that is an art Tumblr/Twitter/Instagram/etc, a personal website, a Patreon or ko-fi, etc).

  • Example: "An illustration of Gideon Nav from the cover of Gideon the Ninth by Tommy Arnold [link]."
